Credits & Top-Ups

Understand how credits fund rewards on Duzlo and how automatic top-ups work.

Overview

Duzlo uses credit-based billing to fund the adaptive rewards system that pays clippers.

Credits are prepaid funds that are used to distribute rewards as submissions earn. This system ensures payouts can happen continuously without interruption.

Credit Balance

Your credit balance represents the total amount of funds you have available to spend on your channel.

As submissions earn rewards, credits are gradually consumed from your balance over time.

You can view your credit balance at any time from your channel’s billing page.

Initial credit requirement

When publishing a channel for the first time, you are required to purchase 2× your desired weekly limit in credits.

For example:

  • Weekly limit: $1,500
  • Required credits: $3,000

This ensures there is always sufficient balance available to reward clippers while payments and top-ups are being processed.

Automatic top-ups

Duzlo uses automatic top-ups to ensure your channel never runs out of credits.

A top-up is triggered when your available credit balance drops below your weekly limit.

At that point, your payment method is charged the amount required to bring your balance back to 2× your weekly limit.

For example:

  • Weekly limit: $1,500
  • Current balance: $1,600
  • When balance drops below $1,500 → auto top-up triggers
  • Balance is restored to $3,000

This system ensures uninterrupted reward distribution and consistent participation from clippers.

Your channel’s billing page provides visibility into your financial activity.

It includes:

  • Credit Balance – Total available credits remaining
  • Top-Up Threshold – Equal to your weekly limit and shows how much spend remains before the next top-up
  • Last Payment – The amount and date of your most recent credit purchase

Below this section, you can also view:

  • Full transaction history
  • Pending or failed payments and charges

How credits are used

Credits are consumed as rewards are distributed to submissions.

Channels without Boosts will not exceed their weekly limit across a rolling 7-day period.

However, Boosts are an additional layer of spend and are also deducted from the same credit balance as your normal spend.

Credits and Boosts

Boost spend is in addition to your weekly limit.

For example:

  • Weekly limit: $1,500
  • Boost: $500

Total possible spend that week: $2,000

Because Boosts increase total spend, they may cause credits to be consumed more quickly and trigger more frequent top-ups when performance is very high.

Payment methods

Credits can be purchased using:

  • A credit/debit card
  • A connected bank account (ACH debit)

All payments and top-ups are processed through your configured payment method.

Credit expiration

Credits expire after 12 months of channel inactivity.

Channel inactivity is defined as a period where no rewards are being distributed.

To avoid expiration, ensure your channel remains active and distributing rewards.

Terminating a channel

If you choose to terminate your channel, a wind-down process is required before the remaining credits can be returned. Learn more about terminating a channel.
